What to do in Palawan
Known as the most well preserved major island group, Palawan is also the largest province in the Philippines when land area is considered. The best assets that Palawan boasts are its rainforest, beaches, mangroves, coral reefs, and caves. In order to see the hard work the local government and people have done towards conservation you have to view the islands.
Palawan’s lush seascapes are considered some of the most beautiful in the world; this is due to its almost 2,000 kilometers of coastline. The coral reefs stretch out under the waves to cover virtually 11,000 square kilometers. Proclaimed a fish and wildlife sanctuary in 1967, the group of islands is more than likely the most protected province in the Philippines.
In the Calamianes islands the Calauit Wildlife Sanctuary is home to rife and exotic species of fauna that are allowed to wander freely in its verdant hills and plains. The mouse deer, Scaly Ant Eater, Porcupine, Mongoose, Palawan Bear cats, Palawan Peacock, Palawan Parrots, and Palawan Monkeys all call the sanctuary home.
