Honda Bay Palawan
Located at the mouth of Puerto Princesa, Honda Bay is home to several small island. Luli Island (which is visable at low tide and swallowed up at high tide), Snake Island, Starfish Island, and so many more. Honda Bay is the best way to describe why island hopping is such a favored pastime of tourists for its various islands.
It can be accessed by private vehicle or hire a jeepney or tricycle towards the Sta. Lourdes wharf approx. 25 minutes or 12 km from the center of the city. Honda Bay is on the boundaries of Sta. Lourdes Tagbanua. It is from the wharf that visitors can hire boats to take them to the island of their choice in Honda Bay. Be aware that a number of islands are privately owned and if you wish to visit you have to obtain permission of the owners before visiting. But there are several islands that are open to the public and only cost a minimal fee.
Along the expanse of Honda Bay there is a floating hut that serves as a marker guarding a rich marine sanctuary filled with a variety of fish species and vibrant corals. Snorkeling is a great pasttime in the designated areas that give visitors a stunning view of the world undersea. The main attraction of the sanctuary is the Pambato Reef.
