Batad Rice Terraces

The Batad Rice Terraces is one of the wonders of the Philippines. They are located in Hungduan and the northern region of Hungduan. Rice terraces cover the sides of hills in an artistic blend of architecture and natural beauty. Forming what looks like steps from a distance, the terraces are created close to the top of a hill and continue down to the base. On a sunny day light is reflected off of the water in the terraces giving the illusion of a cascade of diamonds pouring down the hill. Rice farmers live in a small community either at the base of these hills or in the middle.
